about

Singer-Songwriter, Monique Smaz, is a proud St. Paul, Minnesota native, who writes and performs as a vocalist and guitarist, quickly becoming one of the Twin Cities most sought after talents. She has recently performed to audiences at notable venues such as First Avenue, and has been featured on The Current and Sirius XM radio (The Highway/On The Horizon) with her hit single, "Let Me In".

Monique began with private vocal lessons at age five, by age seven she was enrolled in the St.Paul School of Rock where she continued developing her musicianship by taking lessons for a variety of instruments (guitar, piano, drums, bass, vocals) and performing live shows until launching her solo career at the age of 15.

Monique's biggest inspiration is her father (drummer, Jack Smaz) who passed away when she was just a young child. Her music is also heavily influenced by the sounds and songwriting of Janis Joplin, Ashley McBryde, Miranda Lambert, Elle King, Johnny Cash, and Amy Winehouse. Monique's roots run deep in country/rock/soul, which shines through in her original music.

Monique has recently returned home from Nashville, TN where she spent time writing and recording new music (soon to be released), playing live shows in front of audiences around town, and basking in all of the opportunities that Music City has to offer.
